RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – Police have confirmed that five teenagers who were reported missing from Holly Hill Hospital Tuesday night have been found safe.

On Thursday, Holly Hill Hospital confirmed that two of the teenagers had been located.

Later that day, Raleigh police told CBS 17 that the three remaining teens were also found safe.

Raleigh police said Wednesday night that they were unable to find them after conducting a massive search around the hospital, which provides mental health and addiction services to patients of various ages.

CBS 17 spoke with the family of 16-year-old Edwin, who went missing from the facility Wednesday.

“Tomorrow we have to go back to work and pretend everything is fine,” said an emotional Erica Sosa, Edwin’s mother. She said: “He’s out there, he’s suicidal, and if he gets a call, he doesn’t even know what kind of call he’s going to get.”

On Thursday, Sosa told CBS 17 that Edwin called him that morning and told him he was with one of the other boys who ran away from Holly Hill. Sosa said police picked up the two boys and took them to Duke Hospital.

Sosa and his partner, Trisha Klutz, drove back to Raleigh from Charlotte, where they live, to see their son. Sosa told her that Edwin had spent at least a day in the woods, she said.

Due to privacy and medical confidentiality laws, the hospital and police have not identified the five missing teens.
