HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — Five people were recently banned from all Pennsylvania casinos for allegedly leaving children in their cars to gamble, the Pennsylvania Gambling Control Commission announced.
The Board acted on a petition submitted by the Board’s Executive Advisory Office during a public meeting on the violation.
The now-banned five reportedly left a total of nine children between the ages of 2 and 13 while playing slots and sportsbooks.
- A man and a woman left five children, aged 2, 4, 5, 11 and 13, aged 2, 4, 5, 11 and 13, for 35 minutes while gambling on slot machines in their cars in the Presque Isle Downs Casino & Racetrack parking lot. was placed on the involuntary exclusion list. ;
- A man who left his 11-year-old child in his car in a Live! parking lot has been placed on the involuntary exclusion list. While gambling at the sportsbook, he spent 30 minutes at a casino and hotel in Philadelphia.
- A 10-year-old child was left unattended for five minutes while gambling at a sportsbook in a car parked along a construction fence outside the valet area of Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino Pittsburgh. placed on the involuntary exclusion list. and,
- A woman has been placed on the involuntary exclusion list after leaving two children, ages 8 and 9, in a parking lot in Mohegan, Pennsylvania, for 45 minutes while gambling on slot machines.
The board also reported in 2017 that it had denied a woman’s petition to have her children aged 8 and 12 delisted for leaving them in her car for gambling purposes.
The board also suspended five players and fined them $100,350.
- Hollywood Casino York operator Mountain View Thoroughbred Racing Association LLC fined $78,000 for failing to meet minimum security personnel requirements. and,
- TCS John Huxley America, Inc. and licensed table game manufacturer TCS John Huxley Europe, Ltd. will be fined $22,350 for failing to file a principal license application.
