Fitter Body Ladies, on Wooster Street, opened on Monday (June 3) and is one of a franchise that aims to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for women over 30.
Franchise owner Katie Billingham said the opening went better than she expected, with more than 20 women taking part in the opening day’s 6am session.
The mum-of-one said: “Monday went better than I could have ever imagined. All the ladies were so lovely – everyone was so kind, supportive of each other and totally accommodating, from those who were very active to those looking for less strenuous exercise.”
“They all work so hard and I’m so impressed.”
The 41-year-old Stourport native is the 21st franchisee for FBL, which was founded by husband and wife team Alex and Ricky Knight in 2012, and was officially handed the keys to the new studio in May.
She took on the challenge after realizing there weren’t many fitness opportunities for older women.
The studio is offering a special 28-day challenge for members who want to lose weight, get healthier and boost their confidence.
The challenge focuses on the three “Fs” – food, fitness and focus – and Billingham also runs the “Drop-A-Dress Size” programme in June.
She added, “As an instructor, there’s nothing better than standing in front of a class full of enthusiastic participants who are giving their all, and I’m excited to see the amazing results they’ll achieve if they continue this effort.”
For those interested in signing up, Billingham holds an initial consultation meeting with clients to discuss suitability.
Sessions will run for 28 days at different times on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with an alternative day on Saturdays.
You may also stay longer than the initial 28 days.
