I don’t know what’s wrong with this woman — I thought this was appropriateor she was so proud of it that she wanted to show it off online.
Influencer exercise in Emirates Business Class
Barbara de Regil is a 37-year-old Mexican fitness influencer with over 9 million followers on Instagram. Recently on a “35-hour flight” with her husband, she explained that she felt like she was “going crazy” after sitting for so long, so she decided to exercise to burn off some energy.
So she posted a video of herself working out in business class on an Emirates Boeing 777, even though she was wearing the airline’s pajamas. In a video posted to her Instagram (now deleted), she can be seen running and doing squat jumps on the spot.
Of course, keep in mind that there is no such thing as a 35-hour flight. She apparently flew to the United States on Emirates Airlines, possibly with a layover in Dubai, for a total travel time of 35 hours. She could have taken time to release energy during her layover, but decided to do it on the plane instead.
This is too inconsiderate and there’s nothing I can do about it.
Let’s discuss this a little constructively. Well, we understand that sitting for long periods of time (even in a premium cabin) can be uncomfortable. It’s basically my life story, so I can relate to it. 😉 With that in mind, there are reasonable ways to get your blood flowing and movement good, and there are others that are irrational and inconsiderate.
She could have done some basic yoga or stretching in her seat, or even taken a short walk around the plane. But literally jumping up and down is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen someone do when they’re “showing off” how good a job they’re doing. Maybe. This is completely disruptive to anyone sitting near her, and if you are sitting near where someone is doing this, you will absolutely feel the movement of the floor of the plane.
So there’s the first issue that she thinks this is appropriate, and second that she’s showing off to her millions of followers that this is a good way to release energy on a plane. There is a second problem. By the way, as far as I know, the person who seems unfazed by this is her husband, so he doesn’t react at all.
I simply cannot imagine that this situation could have lasted much longer than the video shows without the crew getting involved and telling her to sit down. But despite this, she still had to flaunt on social media how hard she works on her fitness at the expense of others.
conclusion
A Mexican fitness influencer went “crazy” on a “35-hour” Emirates flight, so she decided to exercise during the flight. She exercised in the most destructive ways possible, such as running on the spot and doing jumping squats, rather than stretching quietly in her seat.
Guys, please use this as an example of how not to behave on a plane…
