First-of-its-kind erectile dysfunction gel Eroxon gets FDA OK

A first-of-its-kind topical gel for treating erectile dysfunction has been granted over-the-counter clearance in the United States by the Food and Drug Administration. According to British developer Futura Medical.

Eroxon was granted a “de novo” classification on Friday because it is a new type of product, the FDA confirmed Monday.

“The FDA has set a very high standard when evaluating the efficacy and safety of De Novo Medical Devices. said in a statement.

A single dose tube works as follows: “The unique physical cooling and warming effect stimulates blood flow within the penis, helping to maintain an erection that is firm enough for sex.”

Futura Medical Claims Eroxon helps users achieve an erection within 10 minutes of application to the head of the penis, with a 65% success rate.

It’s unclear when Eroxon will land in the US, but it’s already available in Belgium and the UK, with four packs for sale. Reportedly priced at around $31.
