RAPIDS CITY, S.D. (KELO) – Pivot Point in Rapid City is less than a year old, but it is now fully staffed and available for support throughout the day.
Provide crisis support to people experiencing an acute mental health crisis.
Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, addiction, or grief, the staff at Pivot Point is here to help.
“So it can be very difficult to ask for help, and it’s also hard to know where to go to get help, which makes the system complex and not easy to navigate. By making our services available in Western South Dakota, people can literally call us, have a conversation with us, or even just walk in the door and talk to a mental health professional to find out what's going on. ,” Amy Iversen said.
This is more than just counseling, we want to create a personalized plan for everyone.
“Everyone is unique and we create individualized plans for them. We connect them with services like housing and insurance. You know, health care workers, everyone, don't fail. ” said Pivot Point Director Lisa Kautzman.
One of Pivot Point's features is its 24/7 service. It's a place where people can actually stay here for a few days during their recovery, and it's all about finding the balance for each person.
These services are a helpful way to find what's right for each person.
“We help assess the situation and decide next steps. So for everyone, it's individual and for some it might just be a conversation to connect them to resources.” For others, it might mean staying with us for a few days to get through the crisis they're in,” Iversen said.
“We want people to be able to come here and deal with the stresses of life and make plans to get back into the community and live their lives,” Kautzman said.
If you or someone you know needs help, Pivot Point wants to hear from you to help bring balance to your life.
Pivot Point is just one of the many services West River Mental Health offers to help others find balance in their lives.
