The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a series of truly eye-opening warnings. Approximately 28 types of commercial eye drop products. The warning is to immediately stop using these products. Doing so can cause serious eye infections. What’s pretty bad? What about things that can lead to partial vision loss or even blindness? Well, if you like the whole being able to see thing, check out CVS Health, Rite Aid, Leader (Cardinal Health), Rugby It’s best to stay away from products sold under names like (Cardinal Health), Target Up, etc. & Up, Velocity Pharma, and Walmart brands.
The big, big problem is that these eye drops can be contaminated with something really tiny that you can’t see without testing in a lab: bacteria and other dangerous microorganisms. Just because your eye drops look or smell okay does not mean they are not contaminated. Eye drops are sterile, which means they are free of all the tiny little things that can cause infections. The eyes are especially susceptible to bad infections. Microorganisms can easily invade the cells that make up the conjunctiva, cornea, uvea, and other parts of the eye. This is because they are not protected by the thick skin that covers other parts of their bodies, such as their feet. This is another reason why you shouldn’t wipe your eyes with your socks after wearing socks on your feet all day.
Therefore, it is very important to keep the facility where eye drops are manufactured very clean, for example sterile. But apparently that wasn’t the case at the various manufacturing facilities that make the following nine CVS Health eye drop products:
- Lubricating eye drops 15ml (1 packet)
- Lubricating eye drops 15ml (twin pack)
- Lubricating gel drops 15ml (single pack)

And Velocity Pharma Lubricant Eye Drops, specifically the 10 ml triple pack. Oh, and three days after his aforementioned initial Oct. 27 announcement about 26 products, the FDA issued a similar warning for the Equate Hydration PF Lubricant Eye Drops (10 mL) product that Walmart sells in stores and online. I issued. Subsequently, the FDA added his sixth leader eye drop product to the list, Lubricant Eye Drops 0.33 FL OZ (10 ml). Overall, we currently have 28 products left. No, don’t buy the list, don’t use it.
Unfortunately, FDA investigators found that conditions described in the FDA’s announcement as “unsanitary conditions” were occurring at these manufacturing facilities. In fact, when these facilities tested environmental samples from major production areas, they received positive results for bacteria, which was clearly not a very positive finding.
Naturally, if the FDA tells consumers not to use a particular product, retailers would do well to remove such products from shelves and websites as soon as possible. CVS, Rite Aid, Target, and Walmart are already doing so. Cardinal Health Inc. and Harvard Drug Group LLC have also initiated national voluntary recalls of products on the FDA list. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t come across such products. These days, virtually anything is available over the Internet, even items that are subject to recalls. Additionally, there is always a chance that a particular store may not have removed such items from their shelves yet. Therefore, always be on the lookout and avoid purchasing such products.
If you have already purchased such a product, please discard it as soon as possible. In this case, throwing it away doesn’t mean giving it away like a frenemy. This means taking it back to the place of purchase or disposing of it in a way that prevents it from being accidentally used or ingested by others. There is also take back medicine location It can accept medicines that need to be discarded.
If you’re already using any of these products, keep an eye out. Always pay attention to whether you may notice or feel any changes in your eyes. This includes your eyes appearing redder than usual, swelling, itching, and feeling irritated or painful. Remember that there is no need to cry for any particular reason, and be on the lookout for unusually watery eyes. Other possible signs of infection include discharge from the eyes, sticky eyes, sensitivity to light, and blurred vision. Also, tell your doctor if you’re feeling generally groggy, like having a fever or flu-like symptoms. You may not be aware that your eyes are the cause of such symptoms. Again, the eyes are very sensitive and susceptible to bad infections and damage, so take any signs of an eye infection very seriously.
So far, no one has reported to the FDA such symptoms after using any of the 28 eye drops on the FDA list. But you never know what new news will be announced in the coming days and weeks.
