Efforts to extend lifespan are in full swing, and scientists have already identified several factors associated with aging.

As more attention is focused on the diets and daily routines of those living the longest lives, it has become overwhelmingly clear that managing inflammation is critical.

Dr. Mohamed Enayat, a general practitioner and founder of HUM2N, cites inflammation as one of the most important determinants of longevity.

Dr. Enayat says diet is recognized as the most effective weapon for fighting inflammation, but so is aerobic exercise.

Aerobic exercise is characterized by movements that work the heart and lungs and reduce body fat.

The goal, experts say, is to keep heart variability high for a long period of time. Steady-state exercise, such as walking, facilitates this.

Additionally, low-intensity training provides long-term protection against stress. This is another important piece of the longevity puzzle.

“Along with exercise and diet, energy conservation and stress management are important factors that help extend longevity,” Dr Enayat told GB News.

Therefore, experts recommend exercises that do not raise your heart rate too much and allow it to remain slightly elevated for about 45 minutes.

These include brisk walking, which has frequently been proven to be one of the best strategies for combating chronic inflammation.

“[Keeping] Large fluctuations in heart rate […] “Maintaining a healthy stress response proactively can help you achieve more longevity and extend your lifespan,” he said.

Maintaining muscle mass and maintaining joint space are most important, but training the proximal muscles is “especially important.”

“Exercises like squats and deadlifts are ideal for strengthening your core and back, and help maintain musculoskeletal function,” explains Dr. Enayat.

He goes on to say, “The second type of exercise is the one that helps increase your VO2 Max, which is your ability to take in as much oxygen as possible and ultimately produce energy.”

Additionally, paying attention to other factors such as digestion can further prevent harm to your intestinal barrier.

This is essential to prevent leaky gut. A microbiome imbalance that invites bacteria, fungi, and pathogens into the gastrointestinal tract.
