Grimes has been diagnosed with autism and ADHD, a short-term attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
The 37-year-old musician revealed the news in a long X post Sunday, claiming that she may also be dyslexic.
“I was diagnosed with ADHD/autism this year and realized that I could be Dyslecic, so I can’t spell it at all without a spell check,” writes Grimes.
She continued, “I felt like I knew this when I was a kid. I would have been working so hard and taking drugs.
The Canadian singer-songwriter said that ADHD symptoms “appear to another X user, called “signs of dissociation,” when I was not an avid reader.”
“It’s “so dark,” Grimes noted that “trying to pathologise one of the best things a child can do to help with ADHD.”
“I think the nature of this informationless social media mental health subculture is a really big concern. Some people are great OFCs, but it seems that many of these are explicitly directed towards preventing anti-British and making people worse,” the three moms concluded.

The Genesis musician, who shares three children with billionaire Tesla CEO Elon Musk, revealed in 2019 that she worked on her mental health and improved her seasonal depression with ophthalmology surgery.
“[I] In an interview with Adidas’ campaign, Grimms eliminated all blue light from my vision through an experimental surgery that removed the top film of my eyeballs as a way to cure seasonal depression and replaced it with the orange ultraflex polymer my friends and I made this winter.
