Jim Cramer has spoken out in support of Tesla CEO Elon Musk over his use of ketamine, a drug used to treat depression and manage pain.
In an interview with Don Lemon on X’s “The Don Lemon Show,” Musk said his ketamine prescription was beneficial to Tesla investors.
“From this point of view, wall street, It’s all about execution,” Musk said, arguing that the owner of Company X has Tesla worth as much as the rest of the auto industry combined.
“For investors, if there’s something I’m taking, I should continue to take it.”
People then criticized Musk, a tech billionaire, over his use of the drug.
But “Mad Money” host Kramer supported Musk, saying he was being attacked for speaking out.
“It’s really unfortunate. We have a guy like this here.” admits to having depression and admits to taking drugs It has helped millions of people and is he being exposed for it? ”
“There are many people who would never have the courage to admit they are taking this drug, and yet this drug is a lifesaver,” he said, explaining his rationale for defending Mr. Musk.
After Mr. Cramer endorsed Mr. Musk, the Tesla chief explained his rationale for using ketamine.
“I posted about ketamine (at a personal risk) because I thought it might help people suffering from bouts of depression,” Musk said.
He added that ketamine may offer a more effective solution compared to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).
