Herbert Wertheim School of Medicine has appointed Dr. Gregory Schneider as Associate Dean of Curriculum and Medical Education.
In this role, Schneider will lead the strategic direction, management and continuous quality improvement of the MD program. He also supports strategic planning and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration across the program while managing the operation, budgeting and policy development of the Department of Medical Education.
Schneider is a board-certified family medicine director, and has taught medical students at all levels, focusing on clinical skills, ethics, and social factors that affect health. Since returning to FIU Medicine last year, he has served as interim associate dean of faculty development at the medical school.
Schneider spent 10 years teaching undergraduate liberal arts, earning a tenure at the liberal arts college, practicing primary care in academic health, student health care and community health center settings. He has over a decade of experience in medical education and most recently served as the Associate Dean of Clinical Education at Roseman University School of Medicine.
