View of the meadowTexas (February 28, 2025) – Prairieview A&M University’s College of Nursing has announced that Dr. Anthony Fauci will become a prominent speaker in the Spring 2025 Leadership Lecture Series. The event entitled “Dr. Anthony Fauci on Vision and Passion: Global Health and Leadership Development” will be held on the Webinar on Tuesday, March 4th from noon to 1:30pm.
A world-renowned public health expert and former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Fauci was a key figure in shaping national and global health policies. Currently a well-known professor at Georgetown University, he advises seven US presidents and leads efforts to combat infectious diseases. His commitment to health equity and evidence-based leadership had a major impact on modern medicine and nursing.
The university’s leadership lecture series, “Healthcare, Education, Stakeholders: Views from Diverse Nursing Leaders,” is in line with Pvamu’s mission to educate and empower the next generation of diverse nurse leaders. A upcoming webinar with Dr. Fauci will feature an engaging fireside chat. The chat raises interdisciplinary questions by students and faculty from Pvamu’s Faculty of Nursing, Undergraduate Medical Academy, and Public and Allied Health Schools.
Dr. Alisa Harris, dean of the College of Nursing, emphasizes the importance of the event. Fauci’s career embodies justice, human rights and service to others. Although he is not a nurse, his impact on public health, patient care, and health policy has shaped modern nursing practice. ”
