  • Dermatologist warns against kissing men with beards
  • They explain it’s full of bacteria that can infect your skin

A dermatologist has revealed the importance of “thinking twice” before kissing a bearded man – especially if you don’t know their grooming routine.

Muneeb Shah, known as the Derm Doctor, warns that beards “contain large amounts of bacteria” and can become infected if you get intimate.

“Rubbing them together can create tiny tiny cuts in the skin that can lead to infections such as impetigo.

He then pleaded with the man to “clean up his beard” to stop the problem at its root.

Muneeb Shah, known as the Derm Doctor, warns that beards “contain large amounts of bacteria” and can become infected if you get intimate.

His warning was triggered by a video of a young woman’s painful rash.

The young blonde held her head and captioned the video: “I thought it was a good idea at the time and kissed a guy with facial hair.”

She then showed a picture of a red, scratched chin that had become increasingly infected over the course of a few days and was covered in angry welts.

The doctor’s followers were blown away by the video.

“I have a husband who has a beard and he always cleans his beard. I didn’t know this could happen,” said one woman.

“Who doesn’t wash his beard?” demanded another.

“I never thought I would have less facial hair than I used to, but here I am,” said another.

Some admitted that they were on the wrong side of the filthy beard.

One woman said, “I had an allergic reaction after kissing a man with a beard once. It turns out he was playing with cats before our date.

“Ah, terrible. Now I know the real reason for my bosom husband. My husband!” said another woman.

“I ate this after our first date. It blistered and peeled off for weeks,” added another.

This woman’s video has been viewed more than 9 million times.

What is impetigo?

Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection caused by streptococci and staphylococci.

It is commonly known as “school pain” because the majority of cases occur in school-aged children. However, it can also affect infants, adults, and adolescents.

Impetigo occurs in two forms: blisters and scabs. In bullous impetigo, blisters develop on previously normal skin and rapidly increase in size and number. The blister bursts quickly, leaving a slightly moist or shiny area with a brown crust at the edge. The spots may spread even after breaking and be several centimeters wide. The center may be clear to produce a ring-like pattern. It is usually painless but may be itchy.

Crusty impetigo has a thick, soft yellow crust. Beneath this crust is a moist red area. A crusted impetigo patch grows slowly and is always smaller than a fully developed bullous impetigo patch. It is usually painless but may be itchy.

Impetigo can occur in addition to other skin conditions, especially itching. If the skin is scratched, the infection can enter through the damaged skin. These conditions include atopic dermatitis (eczema), scabies, insect bites, and head lice.

When larger areas of skin are affected, patients may have fever, swollen lymph nodes, or feel generally unwell.

Depending on the severity of the infection, your doctor may recommend using an antibiotic ointment or oral antibiotics in severe cases. Antibiotic ointment should be continued until the wound is completely healed. When giving oral antibiotics, it is important not to stop treatment when impetigo begins to heal, but to finish the entire course of treatment (usually he is 5 days).

The wound should be cleaned every 8-12 hours, dried thoroughly and covered with a waterproof bandage. Washing the blister with salt water helps dry it out (use saline or dissolve half a teaspoon of salt in a glass of water).
