Dear Annie: I have suffered from a variety of strange symptoms for many years, which got worse and worse, and it took a lot of research before I finally got help.
I am deficient in Vitamin D and B12 and need more than a multivitamin. Doctors don’t know what a deficiency looks like because they don’t study nutrition in med school, and vitamins aren’t subject to routine blood testing.
We advise our readers to have their vitamins checked not only for themselves but also for their children when they have their blood drawn, and if they are vitamin deficient, it is important to learn about the possible causes, symptoms, and where to get help.
Deficiencies do not go away on their own and will affect your health over time. Thank you. — Vitamins are important
Dear Reader: Thank you for your letter.
You make a very important point about nutrition.
You can get many of your vitamins from a balanced diet, but knowledge is power, and learning from your doctor about what vitamins you may be deficient in can really benefit your overall health.
