(Gray News) – Cold medicines sold at Harris Teater, Heb and other local grocery stores and pharmacies nationwide are being recalled due to defective packaging.
According to the notification issued by Consumer Product Safety CommitteeSafetussin Max Strength Multi-Symptom Cough, and Cold and Flues Tablets Blister Pack packages are included in the recall.
Over-the-counter drugs contain acetaminophen. Acetaminophen must be included in pediatric resistant packaging, as required by the Toxicide Prevention Packaging Act.
However, the safetessan package cannot bear children as it can push the tablets through foil and poses a risk of addiction if the contents are engulfed in young children.
Anyone with the drug needs to take it out of sight and reach out from the child.
