(Kron) – The Postpartum Support Center has announced its 4th Annual Mom Walk to be held on Sunday.
According to the Women’s Health website, approximately 1 in 8 women report symptoms of postpartum depression within the first year after giving birth. According to Women’s Health, postpartum depression is a mental health condition that affects some women after giving birth, including feelings of anxiety and overwhelm.
According to the Postpartum Support Center, the purpose of Walk for Moms is to prevent postpartum depression, provide essential baby supplies to local mothers and children in need, and create conversations to break down the stigma around mental health. It is to encourage
Ivana Jagodić, founder and executive director of Postpartum Support Center, said, “Perinatal mental health conditions are the leading cause of maternal death in the United States, and although this condition is treatable, The vast majority of women in the world never receive help. We are at a critical moment where your support can make a tangible difference.”
