Combating the ‘Microstress’ That Causes Burnout

Have you ever had a day when you were unusually tired for no particular reason? There is nothing floating in the background. Worse, I don’t know why.

There are common but little understood reasons for that fatigue. We call it “micro-stress”. Brief, frequent moments of everyday tension that accumulate and interfere, even if we are not aware of them. Micro-stresses, unlike stresses caused by stress, are hard to spot because they are so embedded in our daily lives. And it often reaches us through those closest to us, making it more difficult to acknowledge or avoid it.
