Rick Wanzer, a health insurance agent in Mansfield, noticed a trend when visiting a senior center. Every week, agents like him would visit seniors and talk about Medicare.
Immediately after that, the participants played bingo.
“So a lot of people say, ‘Okay, can you get down to business so we can play bingo?'” he said with a laugh.with the help of Forest Hill Public Library Staff, Wanzer decided to shake things up.
He is hosting Medicare Jeopardy on April 5th at the Forest Hill Public Library. Attendees will receive a complimentary lunch and answer questions in a game format to win prizes.
The event is the first of its kind for Wanzer and is a collaboration between his insurance agency InfoSurance, Humana and the public library. Everyone is welcome and participation is free.

For over 20 years, Wanzer worked as a cybersecurity engineer. Like many others, he lost his job during the pandemic. The space gave him time to reflect.
“It’s great to protect company assets from hackers,” he said. “But how does that help the neighbor across the street?”
He decided to pivot to the world of insurance in 2022, and the change was fortunate.
“What I do now is really an extension of who I am,” he said. I like it.”
The Medicare Jeopardy consists of 20 questions across 5 categories: Basic Medicare, Part A, Part B, Parts C and D, and Enrollment.
“[Jeopardy]involves them in the process of learning about parts A, B, C, and D without sitting there and having someone talk to them,” Wanzer said.
The top 5 winners will receive a small prize from the library. Wanzer will then answer your questions. He hopes the event will encourage people to open up Medicare booklets and ask questions.
is more than 65 million People in the United States are enrolled in Medicare.the number is Steady growth over time. Wanzer admits that the topic can get “a little dry.”
“So let’s make some fun of it,” he said.
