COLUMBIA TUSCLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) – A gym on Columbia Parkway in Cincinnati is only accepting female clients, and the owner says that’s no coincidence.
Built & Bodied Fitness & Health is a women’s only gym located in Columbia Tusculum.
Owner Heisha Harding moved from Dayton to Cincinnati to open the gym in early 2024, and she said she wanted to shift her focus to a specific demographic: postpartum women.
“When you come back from having a baby, you’re not your authentic self,” Harding explains, “so even just going back to the gym can be nerve-wracking. Plus, when you go to the gym, people are going to stare at you, especially if it’s men, and it’s uncomfortable. I wanted to create a space where women could feel beautiful and be their true self, no matter what stage they’re in.”
of The CDC recommends Postpartum women should exercise for at least 30 minutes, five days a week. The CDC noted that 15% of women over the age of 18 are in fair or poor health.
Harding said she wants to change that statistic in her own comfortable space.
“We have clients who are post-pregnancy, who haven’t had kids yet and want to get back in shape, and we also have older clients who want to be active. We wanted to create a space that caters to all stages of life as a woman,” she explained.

There will also be a free class on Sundays at 11am. The class location is Gym Facebook Page Every week.
