CINCINNATI — Anyone who attended a Disney on Ice performance on March 8 may have been exposed to measles, the Cincinnati Health Department announced.
CHD said it was notified of a measles exposure at Heritage Bank Center during the show. Anyone who attended the show or was in the building up to two hours after the show ended at 7 p.m. could have been infected.
Anyone who attended the show and has symptoms such as high fever, cough, runny nose, or watery eyes will be encouraged to isolate until testing can be arranged. Another sign of possible infection may be a rash that develops three to five days after symptoms start, the Ministry of Health said.
The health department is asking people with symptoms not to get tested today because “more people could be infected in hospital emergency rooms.”
“Further information regarding testing arrangements will be released in due course,” the Ministry of Health said.
The CHD noted that the risk is low for people who have been vaccinated against measles.
