A Colorado chiropractor has released a 10-minute exercise to improve hunched posture, which affects one in 10 Americans.

Dr. Daniel Nye, a chiropractor at Discover Chiropractic, posted a video on TikTok demonstrating how sleeping on your back with your feet propped up on a chair improves your posture.

In the video, which has racked up 44.6 million views since 2021, Dr. Nye shows a hunched woman using a cell phone.

He grabbed a chair and made the woman lie down on the ground, supporting her legs.

The text on the screen then tells you to roll up your towel and spread your hands out on the floor. Dr. Nye places a towel behind the woman’s head.

Dr. Nye advises his 183,000 followers to do this exercise for 10 minutes every day.

Poor posture also causes muscles to shorten and become tense, reducing flexibility and reducing joint range of motion.

Leaning forward for many years can weaken your spine and make you more susceptible to injury.

Research shows that rounding your back can further worsen your mental health san francisco state university suggests.

Participants were asked to think twice about a positive experience and a negative experience. The first time was done while sitting upright, and his second time was done while leaning forward.

Students who slouched forward were more likely to recall negative experiences than those who sat up straight.

Several TikTok users praised Dr. Nye’s technique.

A user named ChickenNugget said, “I do this and I’m tired of looking like Quasimodo all the time.”

“Is there anyone else out there who straightened up instantly?” said Andy of the Corn District Fed.
