Chad Michael Murray revealed what it’s like for people who suffer from agoraphobia backstage.
The One Tree Hill actor gave his opinion on everything during a recent interview with The Cut.
During the chat, he described the whole incident as truly debilitating, and admitted that there were times when he felt like “the world was closing down” on him.
At the beginning of his confession, he revealed that at the time he was “much weaker than I appeared to be.”
“People start going, ‘Yeah,’ but I was just walking around with my heart broken,” he said, recalling the incident.
“I was about 23 and I had an event in Miami and I couldn’t leave my hotel room. I felt like the world was closing in on me and I was having anxiety attacks,” he begins with a confession.
“I woke up feeling unsettled. I didn’t like the direction my life was going in. I went to church and got a cross tattooed on my left wrist. I decided to let my faith motivate me.”
But, because “I stand by what I believe,” he says, “if any material comes across my desk, and there have been many times over the last 22 years, that I feel isn’t necessarily what I believe in or what I’m selling, then it’s not mine.”
“I don’t want to get involved in something I don’t believe in because it would be destructive for everyone else involved,” he added in the chat.
Finally, he added, “If you don’t truly love and embrace the character you’re playing, that will show on screen. I always want to give my all to the people I work with and the people who watch my films.”
