Organizations aim to accelerate adoption of alternative payment models

Centene Corporation announced the appointment of Dr. Alice Ham Cheng (pictured above) as Executive Forum Co-Chair of the Health Care Payment Learning & Action Network (LAN), an organization of public and private healthcare leaders. Adoption of alternative payment models.
Cheng will also serve as Centene’s chief health officer from December 2022.
“LAN is fortunate to welcome Dr. Chen, one of the brightest and most innovative thinkers in the healthcare industry, as Co-Chair of the Executive Forum.” Dr. Mark McClellan said, LAN co-chair. “She is a leader in developing and implementing multipayer initiatives to help Californians access more affordable, quality care. Her knowledge and expertise in developing these strategies Knowledge will be a tremendous asset for LAN as it continues to take actionable steps towards quality, accountable and person-centred care for all.”
Mr. Senten said Mr. Chen is actively involved in LAN. She is part of the Health Equity Advisory Team and has spoken at several of her annual LAN summits on quality and equity measurement and multi-payer alignment in California.
“I am honored to join Dr. McClellan and this prestigious group of medical leaders as we continue to invest in innovations that advance value-based care, especially Medicaid,” Cheng said. “Only by uniting buyers, payers and providers can we ensure that everyone receives high-quality, affordable care.”
