PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Barr3 is a nationally known fitness and wellness brand that began in Portland in 2008. The company is celebrating its 16th anniversary this week with the reopening of its first studio in Portland’s Pearl District on September 14th.
According to the instructor, the studio offers a full-body workout so people of all ages can participate. Classes vary by time, but the difficulty level remains the same.
“Since the brand’s inception, we have always sought to differentiate ourselves in the fitness space, offering a unique approach to group fitness, shifting the focus from achieving an imaginary ideal to movements that keep the body balanced and feeling strong every day,” said barr3 instructor Stacey Foster.
Foster said the goal of these classes is to encourage people to incorporate new movements into their daily routines.
“Since we spend a lot of our time sitting in our daily lives, there’s a lot of emphasis on lateral movement, raising your arms overhead and working your glutes,” Foster said.
There are four classes you can sign up for: Signature Class, B3 Strength Class, B3 Cardio Class, and B3 Mindful Flow.
Foster told KATU that all classes offer modifications for people who struggle with certain exercises or movements. “If something feels wrong with your body, we’ll teach you how to adapt and adjust,” Foster said.
