CDC is no longer distributing Covid-19 vaccination cards, once a staple of the pandemic

According to the CDC, coronavirus vaccine cards will no longer be provided by the government.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stopped distributing white cards that were distributed with coronavirus vaccines early in the pandemic, the agency said in a statement. Website.

“Your state’s IIS cannot issue vaccination cards, but they can provide you with a digital or paper copy of your vaccination card. your complete immunization recordincluding vaccination against the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19),” officials said.

The CDC recommends keeping a copy of your vaccination record for your health care provider to help with future medical decisions. If you take your vaccination records to your doctor’s office, they may issue you a new card.

But major pharmacy chains say you don’t need your old card to get the newly updated vaccine.

“Vaccine cards are not required for vaccination, but patients can bring their own vaccine card and a pharmacist will fill it out for them,” CVS said in a statement Tuesday.

People who receive a vaccination at a CVS Pharmacy or Minute Clinic can access their vaccination records on the CVS Health Dashboard, the company said.

If you have a card, Walgreens recommends bringing it to your next vaccination appointment.

“We recommend, but are not required, to bring your dose card or vaccination details to your appointment so that the vaccinator can update your booster details. Walgreens will ask people to provide their age and vaccination details. We ask you to review the situation,” the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

“If a patient receiving a vaccine requests that doses be added to the vaccine card they already have, our pharmacists will be happy to oblige,” Walmart said in a statement.

Rite Aid also said it will no longer require vaccine cards.

Coronavirus vaccination cards emerged in late 2020 as an easy way for governments and vaccinators to track doses, and can be used to prove vaccination status during large events, international travel, etc. There is a possibility that it can be done.
