Carson Daly has discovered the secret to improving your physical and mental health. It’s about jumping into ice-cold water every day.
“A year ago, I went into this event in probably my worst mental state,” the “Today” show co-host, 51, told Page Six. Project Healthy Minds Gala Thursday as I stood next to my colleague Savannah Guthrie.
“I was so beat up physically and mentally that I was thinking, ‘I want to be better next year,’” he added.
Daly first opened up about her struggles with anxiety and panic attacks in 2018, but now credits her health to her daily lows.
“I took cold baths every day for a year,” he said. “It’s getting colder in the house. 40 degrees, literally for two minutes every day.”
The Voice host warned that even if you do it every day, it won’t get any easier.
“It’s really difficult, but I found that doing difficult things is good for your body,” he told us.
Guthrie, 52, has also tried a cold plunge, but said it only lasted 30 seconds.
“But I’m glad I did it,” she added. “Actually, that’s great, but it takes courage to just jump in. You can’t just jump in on tiptoe.”
When Page Six brought up the famous “Seinfeld” episode involving men and cold water, Daly immediately related to it.
“Contractions,” he answered. “Yes, it’s real!”
The “TRL” alum hosted Thursday’s star-studded event, which also featured appearances by Chance the Rapper, Demi Lovato, Sanaa Lathan and Stacey Bendet.
Daley brought his wife, Siri Pinter, and their 15-year-old son, Jackson.
