Dwayne Johnson likely changed his weight training methods after turning 50 to advance his career, a bodybuilding expert said.
And he claims the former WWE legend takes supplements like glutamine and fish oil to keep his body in its new lean shape.
Dwayne Johnson is set to take the stage to present the awards at Oscar Night at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood.
The Jumanji star will join host Jimmy Kimmel in the star-studded event alongside the likes of Halle Berry and Samuel L. Jackson.
This means that Dwayne is definitely aiming to look his best.
The California-born actor previously told Bodybuilding magazine:

The former WWF Champion, who turns 51 in May, looks set to continue on that path.
Exclusive interview with a professional bodybuilder Victor Martinez He told the US Sun about The Rock’s extensive routine.
He added, “The Rock never stopped bodybuilding and he’s definitely given himself a lifetime of working out.
“But like all of us, he slows down and doesn’t lift heavy or for long periods of time.
“If Dwayne quit, it must be due to health problems, but he would find another way.
“When he quits, it takes six months for him to put on body fat and start feeling sick.
“At that point, he wasn’t The Rock anymore.
“Having said that, he certainly changed his training regime and his diet.
“He’s 50 and looks healthier, but he needs to be taken care of because of his schedule.
“He still needs body fat, but he’s still training bodybuilding, so he’s not necessarily training heavier.
“He’s not trying to lift as heavy as possible.
“Dwayne seems to be training more functionally.
“This means he doesn’t have to lift as much weight to maintain the slim look he has.
“Dwayne can’t afford injuries, so his training methods are precise and calculated.
“He does a lot of functional exercises, weight training, postural exercises, and maintains good form.
“He probably takes glutamine, vitamin C, multivitamins and fish oil, which are the main ingredients in his workouts.
“There are many, but I’m sure The Rock has his own list.”
Dwayne started using weights as a teenager.
At 13, he was in the gym with his father, wrestler Rocky Johnson.
After playing football on a scholarship at the University of Miami, Dwayne joined the cast of WWE in 1996.
From there, Johnson spent eight years cementing his name as “The Rock.”
It was here and on stage that the muscular 6-foot-5 wrestler became a character known for his charisma and his massive, eye-catching build.
By 1999, Dwayne caught the attention of Hollywood producers.
He first appeared in Star Trek: Voyager and then in big budget movies like Return of the Mummy.
Over time, Dwayne Johnson has become one of the highest paid and most successful actors in the United States.
“If you look at Dwayne’s physique when he’s wrestling, he was definitely big,” explains former Mr. Olympia runner-up Victor.
“The Rock will always be big for his height and stature.
“But when you look at Dwayne now at 50, his body is more detailed than when he was wrestling.
“This is also good for his big screen appearances.
“Dwayne lost a lot of body fat after wrestling by running around a lot and jumping off things.
“He was bodyslamming other wrestlers in the ring.
“Now he’s thin for the movie, but he can still move around.
“After quitting wrestling, he went into a more bodybuilding lifestyle, training several hours a day.
“Lately, Dwayne seems to be working out six days a week, at least an hour and a half or two hours a day.
“He probably only sleeps six to seven hours each night.
“On his diet, he gives himself a cheat day, which is bodybuilding terminology for a ‘bad’ day for food.
“I keep my diet balanced at a gentle pace for my mental health.
“As a bodybuilder, you can’t be strict all the time, so Dwayne knows when to push hard and when to let go.
“Looking at his diet, it’s definitely macro balanced, which is basically a balance of carbs, fats, proteins and sugars.
“He likes peanut butter pancakes on cheat days.
“But if you run three days in a row, you have to fight with Michelin tires on your hips.
“Dwayne is 50, so he had to stick to a strict regimen of watching his body fat and reducing inflammation.
“The best way to do all this is through diet, not just all supplements.”
Over the years, Johnson has also entered the world of sports business as a co-owner of the Extreme Football League (XFL).
He owns Teremana tequila and energy drink Zoa, and co-owns Seven Bucks Productions, the production company behind his blockbuster films.
In his personal life, Dwayne is married to Lauren Hashian, 38, and they share two daughters, Jasmine, 7, and Tiana, 4.
He also shares another daughter, Simone, 21, with ex-wife Dany Garcia, 54. She is also a bodybuilder.
“Working out not only gives Dwayne great physicality, but most of all, it gives him the mindset that discipline can handle everything.
“He has a family, a job, and who he is today.
“If Dwayne stopped training, he would be stressed, uncomfortable, and not feeling well.
“As a bodybuilder, when you’re in a dormant state, it’s like turning off your car for a long time and feeling sick when you start it.
“Longevity is the name of the game for Dwayne.
“As soon as he stopped working out, he started to lose focus.
“Considering how much he does, the stress level would be too high for him.
“Decision to retire is not acting.
“This is what you do to process life.
“Bodybuilding takes all the stress off and a lot of people I know use it to fight addiction.
“And while it may be helping Dwayne deal with stress, bodybuilding is a lifelong endeavor for him.
