Been Doing Reformer Pilates for a Year; Relieved Knee Pain, Loved It

I started taking Reformer Pilates classes about a year ago.

My interest in fitness classes began when I took my first Zumba class in college. Since then, I have been interested in trying Pilates.

I started having pain in my knees last year, so I decided to finally try a reformer. Pilatesuse a reformer instead of a matte.

I was in physical therapy and I thought to myself: low intensity movements It would complement the stretching and strengthening exercises I was already doing.

In my case, I think Reformer Pilates helped relieve my knee pain.

Last year, my knees started making a loud clicking noise when I just moved around the house. Walking short distances hurt, and squats and lunges also hurt.

In the reformer, I slept on my back on the trolley so I didn't have any weight on my knees.

Second, when you squat, the only resistance is from the machine's springs, not your body weight.

Thanks to Pilates, I was able to build strength without putting too much stress on my knees.

Become more flexible and able to exercise different muscle groups

One of my favorite things about the Pilates Reformer is that you can perform different stretches thanks to the sliding carriage, straps, and springs.

Thanks to the adjustable resistance cord, I was able to stretch deeper and open up my lower back, hamstrings, and other tight muscle groups.

Now, I can go deeper and hold my stretches longer than when I first started.

I'm not losing weight, but that wasn't my goal

I focused less on losing weight and more on having fun exercising.

Although it won't burn as many calories as a HIIT workout or a Zumba class, Pilates will make your muscles sore and your heart rate will increase.

But losing weight was never my goal. Pilates strengthens the muscles around my knees and helps me keep moving even when I'm not at 100%.

I still find value and joy in taking Pilates classes. Because it allows you to work muscle groups that you might otherwise skip.

I'm getting better at staying present during training

When we were stretching in a recent Pilates class, the instructor told us to quiet our minds and focus on the present, because that's the only thing that matters.

That feeling stayed with me and I got better at staying present during each session.

I'm looking forward to Pilates class. That's because Pilates classes not only provide a great full-body workout, but they also give you a moment of zen and an opportunity to forget about the stress of the week.

I spent a lot of money, but I think it was worth the splurge.

I love going to Pilates, but just one class can cost more than a monthly gym membership.

At my local studio, palm pilates, drop-in classes cost $28. I usually buy a package of 20 classes for $400 and he goes to the studio once or twice a week.

The number of participants in Palm Pilates classes is limited to 5-7 people, allowing you to receive personalized attention during your session.

It costs a lot of money, but I think the intimate atmosphere in each class is worth it.

I would like to continue taking this class as long as I can afford it.
