She hopes to help more people with her Aqua Tula method
In Sydney, Sander recovered enough to live a normal life. As part of her passion for recovery, she has completed several certifications in fitness and wellness.
Sander earned her NASM Personal Training Certification, which she used as a foundation to earn other certifications such as prenatal and postnatal fitness, Total Resistance System (TRX), functional training, movement training, trigger point therapy, and ultimately. Acquired Aqua Instructor.International certification by International Sports, Aerobics and Fitness Federation (FISAF).
Saunders spent nearly three years recovering and returned to university, graduating with a degree in art history from the University of Sydney.
She moved to Hong Kong in 2006 and worked in a variety of industries, including trying her hand at an art gallery and briefly working in real estate. She then moved around Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok, where she met her husband and had a child.
It was only when she suffered from postpartum depression after her second pregnancy that she turned to water to heal herself again.
She searched but couldn’t find a guide for women who need support before and after childbirth, especially during the postpartum phase when building core and strength is important.
Ms. Sundar developed the Aqua Tula method when she returned to Singapore from Bangkok, using techniques she learned many years ago. This led to the creation of her aquatherapy training company. AquaturaI2019.
Tula means balance in Sanskrit, and Ms. Sundar found both resonance and relevance in the use of this word, especially after her experience. “I believe in moderation in all things because she experienced extreme coping when she was younger,” she said.
“I had postpartum depression after an emergency C-section, but what brought me back to life was water and the methods I use in class today,” she said.
