A new study suggests that 7 in 10 Americans don’t think they’re getting enough nutrients in their diet.

A recent survey of 2,000 U.S. residents found that 70% are now convinced their bodies are lacking important vitamins and nutrients, which makes them unmotivated (56%), I feel slower than usual (56%).

Another 42% self-diagnose some food allergy or intolerance, most commonly shellfish (56%), nuts (28%) or wheat (48%).

Conducted by OnePoll on behalf of online health and wellness retailers iHerbthe survey also revealed that the vitamins Americans are most worried about missing are the same ones they feel are most important.

Ironically, the most abundant mineral in the body is also the mineral that concerns the most respondents. Calcium is found in bones and teeth and helps perform many important functions.

Fifty-six percent of respondents feel that calcium is one of the top five most important nutrients in the body, and 42% are concerned that they are not getting enough calcium.

Likewise, respondents were concerned about their intake of vitamin C (42%), iron (41%) and vitamin B12 (41%).

According to naturopathic doctor Michael T. Murray, iHerb’s Chief Scientific Advisor, they may have every reason to be concerned.

“Data analyzed from National Health and Nutrition Survey This suggests that 39% of people are consuming less than their average requirement for calcium,” Murray said. “This is just one nutrient. , vitamins C, D, E, and minerals such as iron and magnesium, both from diet and supplements.”

Nearly two-thirds (63%) of respondents tried to change their diet to see if it would help with an undiagnosed food-related condition.

Most people (29%) only lasted 3-4 months on the modified diet, and only 17% were able to stay on the modified diet for more than 6 months.

In fact, research suggests that people are more likely to try a new diet based on the promise of weight loss (48%) than on medical research-backed claims (40%).

Perhaps that is why fatigue is particularly prevalent among those surveyed, with the average person feeling low on energy nearly three days a week.

One in four (27%) even admitted that the last time they felt well was over a year ago

“Vitamins and minerals are essential nutrients, which means the body cannot function properly without them. “What this means is that the deficiency of even one vitamin or mineral disrupts this complex system. In order to achieve and maintain good health, we need to avoid nutritional deficiencies of all kinds. Taking a vitamin and mineral formula from Physiotherapy provides a form of nutritional insurance in that it provides some of the tools the body needs to be healthy.
