Alexei Navalny’s health deteriorating, poisoning suspected: lawyer

Supporters of imprisoned opposition leader Alexei Navalny in Russia say he is suffering from unexplained stomach pains and has lost an alarming amount of weight, prompting him to slowly become addicted. I’m assuming there is.

An ambulance was called to the heavily guarded penal colony on Friday after his condition worsened due to a mysterious stomach ailment.

Navalny, 46, is said to have lost 18 pounds in 15 days while in solitary confinement.

Kobzev claimed that his client had not received treatment for his condition, and that prison officials had “brazenly” refused packages containing drugs that Navalny’s mother had sent him.

“In response to his question, ‘What’s tormenting me?’ the prison doctor replies to him: ‘Well, it’s spring and everyone’s having a seizure’.” Kobzev tweeted.

Judging by the ‘strange’ circumstances surrounding Navalny’s health, ‘he is merely being slowly poisoned so that his health deteriorates slowly but steadily rather than dramatically. I’m not ruling out the possibility,” Kobzev said.

The lawyer added that the addiction claim “may sound like ranting and paranoia in relation to someone else, but it’s not Navalny after ‘Novichok.'”

Kobzev was referring to the near-fatal poisoning of an anti-Kremlin activist using the Novichok nerve agent in August 2020.

Navalny posted on social media on Tuesday that he was put back in solitary confinement for the 13th time and was forced to endure “extremely hellish” conditions.

A vocal critic of President Vladimir Putin, who is serving a total of more than 11 years in prison for fraud and contempt of court, he said it was fabricated to silence him.

Mr Navalny said he was released from solitary confinement on Friday and sentenced to another 15 days in a “punishment cell” on Monday. After his supporters outside released an investigation showing that the prison service allegedly overpaid Cabbage and pocketed the surplus.

Russia said last week that Navalny supporters helped assassinate pro-war blogger Vladren Tatarsky in St. Petersburg.
