ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) announced Tuesday that it had quelled a major drug raid.
The APD’s Central Narcotics Division is investigating a large drug trafficking ring operating in the subway, which it says may have ties to Mexican drug cartels.
Police recovered 15 firearms (some of which were stolen), 45,000 fentanyl tablets, 1 pound of methamphetamine, 8 grams of cracks and about $45,000 in cash. Two cars were also seized.
“Today’s raid is the result of hours of investigation and partnership between APD Narcotics Agents and partners at the DEA, DEA Task Force members, the Electronic Assistance Unit and the Gun Violence Reduction Unit,” said APD Director Harold Medina. rice field. “He in Sandoval County also received support from the K-9 unit, which is a great team effort to keep the pressure on the criminals who cause drug trafficking and gun violence in the metropolitan area. Raymond Vargas and Gary Merino-Ramirez were arrested in connection with the seizure.
Ashley Lucas and Oscar Maitrena-Barrera were also arrested.
