ADRIAN — According to a news release from the Meijer store, an employee of Adrian Meijer recently delivered a check for $10,000 to the Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority.
This is the second year that Meijer has given members of its hourly team the opportunity to decide which nonprofits will receive gifts. Store Director Ben Negron explained the process used to make the designations over the past two years.
“Our team members participated in a multi-week voting process to narrow down eight local organizations, including The Daily Bread, Humane Society and Share the Warmth, to one. Donating funds to community organizations without receiving, those team members made their voices heard today.Warmth and The Daily Bread will each receive $5,000.”
