milwaukee – For more than a year, doctors and patients have struggled to obtain treatments. Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder – better known as ADHD.. Pharmacies in southeastern Wisconsin are also having to adapt.

“For kids, it helps them focus on things like school, and it really makes a difference,” says John Phillips of Sage Specialty Pharmacy.

Phillips said it’s still hard to find. Any ADHD medicine.
“Generic Adderall, Vyvanse, Focalin,” Phillips said. “Every week I say I still can’t get information from anyone.”
The question is, why?
FOX6’s Jason Calvi asked the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services while in Washington, D.C.
“There’s something missing here,” Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said. “The industry is committed to getting from point A to point Z without creating a crisis.”

“The demand exists for those drugs,” Becerra said.
It is unclear when the shortage will be resolved, but…
“We are always trying to stay on top of the situation and communicate as much as possible with patients who are using these medications,” Phillips said.
