YouTuber Stan Brownie is no stranger to fitness challenges. He ran a mile a day for his month, worked out 24 hours a day, and challenged the toughest fitness fads on TikTok. In his latest video, Browney does a deceptively simple workout. The best time he can find on his YouTube is by a guy named The Proof, who managed it at 4:37.
“The challenge is based on two simple exercises, a pushup and a pullup, that very few people can complete,” he says. “This might be the hardest bodyweight challenge in the world. I want to be able to do it.”
Brownie assumes that his extensive previous gymnastics training and general fitness level will make this challenge relatively easy, but he fails on his first attempt. He completes his 50 pull-ups and his 100 push-ups in his 5:20. However, Brownie was not satisfied with his time and was determined to keep all 150 times within five minutes of him.
He reached this goal fairly quickly after just two days of training, so the goal was changed and he set himself up for a rather difficult challenge to break the all-time record of 4:37.
This is easier said than done. Not only is the workout itself difficult because it works non-stop, but by doing the same exercises day after day without allowing recovery, Brownie starts to realize his progress is lagging. “I’m in more and more pain every day…I’m getting slower again,” he says. .”
On Day 9, Brownie broke the 5 minute barrier and completed the workout in 4:48. From there, the momentum continued, setting a new record of 4:32 on the 11th day. technology.
After 34 days (including an illness break), Brownie finally beat Proof with a time of 4:32.
