Today (Saturday 14th January) a new gym opens in Darlington town centre.
Sensei will be opening today and Sunday, January 15th at The Old Exchange on Barnard Street, just off Duke Street.
Known for martial arts and mixed martial arts training, the facility also has a gym, a variety of fitness classes, and a physical therapy studio.
Sensei has been based on Chesnut Street for about four years, but the team now decided a more central location would be better.

Rick Boyle said: A variety of fitness classes are available, as well as a gym and physical therapy studio.
“I wanted to bring my interests together so I thought it would be a great idea to do it all in a great location in the heart of the city.
“I’ve been a little under the radar on Chestnut Street, and I hope that people who might never have considered joining a gym before are more likely to start exercising. We’re friendly. It’s a nice group, very casual and non-judgmental.”
Locals can combine a day at the gym with a swim at the Dolphin Center, lunch at one of the city’s many cafés, and a stroll through the shops to take advantage of the central location.
Taster classes run Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
