According to the risk of “child addiction,” thousands of Benadrill bottles have been pulled out of the shelf. US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
On March 20, the agency announced a recall of Benadrill Liquid Elixir, a 100 ml bottle, increasing the risk of addiction due to concerns that the packaging would not be safe for children.
Approximately 2,300 bottles of Bena Drill purchased on Amazon are part of the recall.
The problem is not the actual product, not the packaging. Still, people are told to throw away their products.
This recall includes Benadrill Liquid Elixir, sold in round dark plastic bottles. Pink and white labels with the word “Benadrill” in blue text are sold front.
The product contains 100 mL of Bena Drill. The back label contains safety disclosures, storage instructions, and manufacturer information.
The product was wrapped in a paper box decorated with pink and white, with the word “Benadrill” written in blue text.
This package has a white label at the bottom and the following code is written in black text: “x003vrigul.”
Bottles cost between $16 and $19 and can be refunded from the distributor.
To receive a refund, you will need to send an Amazon order number and a photo of your recalled Benadryl discarded. recall@arsellsupport.com.
Benadryl contains diphenhydramine. Diphenhydramine should be included in parenting packaging, depending on the requirements of the Toxicide Prevention Packaging Act.
However, the packaging of these specific bottles is not child-bearing. This means that children can accidentally swallow liquids and become addicted.
Kenvue, Benadryl’s parent company, said people, “We take the quality, packaging and safety of our products very seriously and we always recommend avoiding medicines out of reach of children.
“We are considering this issue because the recalled batch of Benadrill Liquid Elixir was not permitted for sale in the US, so Benadrill Liquid Elixir, 100 mL, is a product made in Canada for Canadian consumers and is in accordance with Health Canada’s packaging regulations.
“This product appears to be incorrectly sold in the US by unauthorized third-party sellers on Amazon. If you purchase this product from Amazon, you must follow the recall instructions provided on the Consumer Product Safety Commission website.”
Too much ingestion can cause serious side effects such as heart problems, muscle collapse, confusion, hallucinations, blurred vision, difficulty urinating, and seizures.
Overdose can even be fatal as it can cause dangerous cardiac rhythm problems, pneumonia, muscle damage caused by too long in one position, or brain damage caused by lack of oxygen.
The statement also stated: “This recall only affects many of the particular lots mentioned, and does not affect other Benadrill products in the US or Canada. Benadrills are safe to use against labels.”
