My low teeth have grown more curved and more over the last few years. This is a surprise. They were once completely straight, thanks to the braces that continued throughout the three unstable middle school years.
I asked a few middle-aged friends if they noticed the same and reported that they and they had bent their new low teeth.
So I called Dr. Leila Jahangiri, prosthetic president of the New York University School of Dentistry, to ask if the experience was common. It’s not uncommon for teeth to “shift and drift” as you get older, she said, and it tends to occur more often in the lower teeth than in the upper part.
Not everyone’s teeth move when they age, she added, but if that’s the case, common reasons include loss of teeth. Gum disease, you can do that Makes teeth unstable;and Wear on your teeth From something like crushing.
But is there any other surprising way my conversation with Dr. Yahangiri changes as we age? What are considered normal and not? I went to a specialist.
Your voice may change.
As adults age, their vocal cords may often become thinner, more flexible and less tightly closed, said Dr. Ted Mau, director of Voice Center at UT Southwestern Medical Center. As a result, your voice will become weaker and poor.
