Putrajaya, March 14th – May 1st Effective private clinic and hospital drug price display rules aimed at providing the public with access to information about available medicines, rather than regulating prices.
He said that displaying prices allows the public to compare costs at healthcare facilities and plan health costs accordingly.
“The mechanism for displaying medical prices is consistent with universal consumer rights, including information rights and choice.
“I would like to emphasize that this rule allows the public to access information about medical prices, not just display prices, but also to enable informed choices. It is not implemented to control medical prices,” he told reporters after launching the 2025 Consumer NGO Day here today.
Armizan said on October 3, 2023, the Medical Price Transparency Mechanism (MKHU) was submitted to the NACCOL Conference (NACCOL) Conference.
This was followed by the cabinet memorandum table on January 8th, resulting in approval of the mechanism cabinet.
“AlhamduriraCabinets approve the memorandum and the rules are issued under the Price Management and Anti-Profiling Act (AKHAP) 2011. The rules require medical facilities to display medical prices at facilities,” he said.
He added that the implementation of medical prices will be carried out under the rules made in accordance with the law. – Bernama
