Dear Annie: I’ve lost my zest for life, how do I know if I’m officially depressed?

Dear Annie: I have always been an enthusiastic person for the things in life. I have always had interests and obsessions that gave me purpose and direction. But recently I’ve lost interest in everything. It seems like he doesn’t want to do anything other than what he has to do to survive, such as going to work, paying bills, etc., but my hobbies aren’t interested in me anymore. I don’t know what to do. What was once exciting is no longer exciting. I don’t know why. Can you provide insights? – Boring and indifferent

Dear Bored: It sounds like you’re going through a depression match. First, ask if you are caring for yourself – sleep well, exercise regularly, eat nutritious foods, and manage your stress. If the answer is yes, something deep might be happening. And I would suggest you contact your doctor and mental health professional.
