A Maltese personal trainer opens up about his fitness transformation and how he found the balance between health and leisure in his life.
Uploading two side-by-side images comparing where he started and where he is now, Mark Gretsch says he “understands that not everyone is born an athlete,” and that this mindset can help others who aren’t athletes. I’ve highlighted how it actually helps to train people with defaults.
Although the two photos shared were taken 11 years apart, Grech had lost 35 kg in two years when she first embarked on her fitness journey.
“Looking back on my changes, it feels like the ‘all or nothing’ spirit and initial motivation only lasted a few months. It started happening,” Grech told Lovin Malta.
“I used to tell myself that I only need to get 0.1% better every day. Of course, I feel like I have a lot more to achieve, but I’m not in a rush to get there. Traveling is its own reward, so how to enjoy it. Please find.”
“If you’re about to embark on this journey, my advice is: don’t stress, remember why you started, and never give up.”
In his first Facebook post, which attracted the attention and support of many, Grech highlighted how he found balance in what he enjoyed doing.
When he was growing up, he never had a six-pack or won first place in a sports competition.
“In fact, I would never have considered myself a ‘deserving’ person at all. When I was younger, I was more interested in playing World of Warcraft all day, listening to Metallica, drinking Jaguar Bombs, and eating hamburgers at 4am after a night out,” he elaborates. did.
“I still occasionally play video games, listen to heavy metal, and eat burgers. I have,” he said.
“The younger I am, the more proud I am. Not because I changed myself, but because I evolved to accommodate a healthier life.”
Because he understands that not everyone is born an athlete and not everyone has the perfect body to break records.
“But everyone deserves a chance to live a healthier life.”
