Roy Keane didn’t hide his resentment when he compared Jamal Musiara, who declared Germany many years ago, to Declan Rice and Jack Grealish, who declared Britain.

- Rice, Grealish represented Ireland at youth level
- Keane immediately compared
What happened? Musiala entrusted his future to the German national team in February 2021. Both Rice and Grealish have represented the Republic of Ireland youth team, the latter winning his U-21 Player of the Year award in 2015, but switched allegiances at senior level. Keane quickly compared the two cases and admitted that it was nice to see England on the wrong side for once.
They said: ““It’s great to see England get a taste of their own medicine,” Keane quipped. “I got a player… [Declan] rice, [Jack] Grealish – don’t get me started on that. It’s not easy for a player to make that decision, so of course we have to respect that.”
Overall picture: Musiara, of a German mother and a British-Nigerian father, was born in Germany, raised in England and represented the Three Lions at U-21 level in 2020. After moving to Bayern in 2016 and returning to her home country, she played for the German national team and has since made 17 appearances for Die Mannschaft.
