Manpreet Kaur, a fitness coach, told Local 18, “Due to our busy and sedentary lifestyles, most people suffer from various illnesses ranging from mild to severe.” These include serious conditions such as obesity, fatty liver, joint pain, heart or lung disease, breathing problems, and cancer. Some form of physical exercise is essential to prevent or reduce these problems. Jogging, cycling, and swimming are all effective options. ”
She further explained that cycling is considered a low-impact exercise and is suitable for all ages. This helps prevent many diseases and ideally should be done at least 5-6 kilometers every day. Cycling strengthens your muscles, bones, and tendons while burning excess calories and fat.
It also reduces symptoms such as heart attack, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, stress, Alzheimer’s disease, and belly fat. Research shows that cycling is especially beneficial for recovery during or after cancer treatment.
About swimming, Kaur says, “Swimming is good for both physical and mental health. During swimming, the water pressure is evenly distributed throughout the body and acts as a type of therapy. This helps the body burn calories. Burns quickly and loses weight It helps strengthen the cardiovascular system, heart, and lungs. It also reduces breathing problems and symptoms such as asthma, insomnia, mental stress, joint pain, muscle stiffness, and pain. It also has the effect of making your body more flexible. Swimming for 30 to 60 minutes can improve your overall health and protect you from serious illnesses.”
She added that swimming is safe, highly beneficial for pregnant women and people with disabilities, and is one of the most comprehensive forms of exercise.
