UNDATED (WKRC) – A popular protein powder that was distributed in retail stores nationwide and online has been recalled.
According to Newsweek magazine, Orgain has voluntarily recalled a single batch of Chocolate Flavored 30g Plant-Based Protein Complete Protein Powder due to possible undeclared peanut residue.
The company said it initiated the recall “out of an abundance of caution,” adding that a review of the production process for the recalled batches found no discrepancies, according to the retailer.
According to Newsweek, the affected products are sold in 2.01-pound gray plastic containers with blue labels, have a best-before date of June 20, 2026, and have a lot code of 4172 on the back. -02-P is listed. This product was sold nationwide, both online and in retail stores, starting July 16, 2024, per retailer.
According to Newsweek, both the company and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) advised all customers to immediately stop using the affected products. According to Newsweek, Orgain has not received any reports of illness or allergic reactions related to the recalled products.
