Boulder County government recently paid $14.2 million for the building at 2525 28th St. in Boulder and plans to renovate it into new space for employees to serve residents, according to a county press release.
County services for residents, such as mental health services and employment services, will move into the new building after county officials complete energy efficiency improvements and renovations to the building. The transition is expected to take more than a year, according to the release. County services moving to the new building are currently available at the county’s North Broadway complex at 1333 Iris Avenue in Boulder.
According to the release, the new building is expected to be more accessible for residents, as well as more energy efficient and safer. Once employees are in the new building, county officials will decide what to do with the North Broadway complex, the release said.
Boulder County officials also operate the St. Vrain Community Hub in Longmont and the Southeast Community Hub in Lafayette as locations to provide residents with the county services they need.
