Yes Madam, a Noida-based company that provides home salon services, is facing the wrath of the internet after it allegedly fired over 100 employees over an email. The company first conducted a mental health survey and, after “careful consideration,” terminated employees who were experiencing stress at work.

“What’s going on at Yes Madam? First they do a random survey and then they fire us for one night because we’re stressed? And not just me?” , and 100 others were also fired,” said a Yes Madam employee who was fired via email after undergoing a mental health investigation.

Anushka Dutta, a former UX copywriter at YesMadam, shared a screenshot of an email that an employee received from the company’s human resources manager. It provided an update on the results of the stress survey conducted by the organization.

The email started on a positive note, stating: “We recently conducted a survey to understand your feelings about stress in the workplace. Many of you shared your concerns, which we deeply value and respect.”

“As a company committed to promoting a healthy and supportive work environment, we have carefully considered the feedback,” the company added.

At first glance, the email seemed to suggest that the company would take steps to promote a healthier work environment. However, what happened next shocked the employees.

Ashu Arora Jha, human resources manager at Yes Madam, communicated the company’s decision, adding: “To ensure that no one continues to experience stress in the workplace, we are parting ways with employees who have shown significant stress. I have made a difficult decision.”

The company said the decision was “effective immediately,” adding that “affected employees will be provided with further details separately.”

In response to the viral email, one individual wrote: This is pathetic. They are toying with their employees’ careers. ”

“This is the most inhumane way to fire an employee. You sent in a ‘stress survey’ and the rationale for it, decided to fire people, and pretended you cared. This is unbelievable and insane. It speaks of a toxic work culture and the services you provide. Start-ups that start on a foundation of toxicity die the fastest. If that’s true, you want people to boycott your brand, both as employees and end customers, and if it’s a PR stunt, you want people to do the same because there are better trending ways. I would like you to do so. ” added another.

A third commented: “With such a high-pressure approach, it’s no wonder everyone feels stressed.”

“Firing employees who report stress in a workplace survey is not only counterproductive, it’s the height of irony. Rather than addressing the root causes of stress, this approach It sends a loud and clear message: “It’s not our concern.” A healthy work environment is built on empathy and solutions, rather than silencing voices by excluding those who speak up. This isn’t fostering a collaborative culture, it’s avoiding accountability. Companies have to do better,” shared a fourth opinion.
