Amen encourages everyone to start their day by saying out loud, “Today is going to be a great day.” These magic words, he claims, are effective when spoken to ourselves and others.

In doing so, he said, your subconscious mind begins looking for activities and moments you look forward to experiencing as the day unfolds.

This brilliant doctor teaches us that this sunny perspective is important in order to program our brains to seek out positivity.

“To become mentally strong, you have to notice what you like in others more than what you don’t like,” he began.

“I often think of good parents, coaches and teachers,” Amen said. “They notice what they like and they tell you what’s not good.”
