Over the weekend, fans, Valerie Bertinelli People quickly rallied around the celebrity chef after she shared that she was suffering from a serious illness anxiety attack.
In a video uploaded to Instagram on Nov. 17, Bertinelli can be heard saying, “I’m doing my best. The after-effects of an anxiety attack are the worst,” as he tries to keep his hands from shaking.
In an Instagram caption, the 64-year-old actress shared candid details about what exactly happened during the attack. During her anxiety attack, Bertinelli said, she would shake uncontrollably, cry uncontrollably and feel like her heart was pounding out of her chest.
The attack lasted several hours, but she was able to use it. meditation and EMDR (Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) helps control anxiety attacks.
“I’ve mostly disconnected from relationships and just focused on calming my mind and finding my way to a more relaxed and peaceful body, because it causes my brain to overthink and go into a catastrophic state. I know I’m just falling in, but my body is out of control and I can’t control it,” Bertinelli wrote. . “A few hours later, I’m doing my best with meditation and EMDR to get out of this situation, but this is the aftereffects and I still can’t seem to calm down completely.”
Bertinelli’s post received many words of encouragement from fans and celebrities alike. Among the celebrities who showed their support was fellow TV personality Rosie O’Donnell.
“I completely empathize. Please call me anytime,” O’Donnell wrote.
Hundreds of Bertinelli’s followers also wanted to let her know she’s not alone in her struggle with anxiety attacks.
