EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Brenda Rodriguez, known as Nurse B, is a registered nurse, health coach, and co-founder of Balance Peach, an El Paso fitness community dedicated to the physical and mental improvement of women.
“When I started my journey, there was no such thing as fitness. There were a couple of women in El Paso who had muscles,” Rodriguez said. Inspired by this, she told her daughter, “We’re going to have a marauder camp in the park.”
Balanced Peach started with small workout sessions of 8-15 women and has since grown to accommodate 60-80 participants. The community offers two workout classes on Tuesdays and Sundays.
“My Sunday classes are free. They started out free and I want them to stay free,” Rodriguez said. She described Sunday’s session as intense, focusing on glute exercises that combined Pilates and barre. “We’re peach positive here. We have a variety of peaches. Not just perfect ones, but also lumpy ones. We need to love ourselves.”
Rodriguez emphasized that balance speech means growth in all aspects of life. “The important thing is that in order to grow, to become the best version of yourself, you need to keep moving forward.Change is good, but it can also be scary. It’s important when there are other women who have goals like that.”It was great,” she said.
“There are some girls who are so nervous they can’t stand straight. But now they’re like me, they’re my people,” Rodriguez added. “I mean, it’s a peach in a nutshell.”
