With numbers this high, there must be some mistakes. However, in a business with little or no tolerance for error, these mistakes can have disastrous consequences. TikToker Caitlin (@kaylowe890) used her platform to address this.
Caitlin said after waiting more than an hour to pick up her children’s medications from a local Walgreens pharmacy, she was furious to learn that the pharmacy had given her another person’s medication. Her clip has been viewed over 100,000 times.
“I want you to return the drugs you accidentally picked up at Walgreens,” Kaitlyn began. “Instead of giving the kids drugs, they were given drugs from random people.”
Caitlin sits in her car holding a Walgreens bag containing the wrong medication. She filmed herself on her way back to the pharmacy to return medication she claimed was the wrong medication.
While Caitlyn explains the situation, viewers can hear Caitlyn’s young children crying in the back of the car.
“They need antibiotics,” Caitlin explains. “I waited an hour to get the antibiotics, then went home and opened the bag. [and] Oh, I didn’t get any antibiotics. ”
What was the “drug” she brought back?
Caitlin shared that she was given both oxycodone and gabapentin, a drug most commonly used to treat and prevent seizures.
Caitlin takes a closer look at the prescriptions she was unfairly given.
“I know everything about this patient because all the HIPAA information is there,” Caitlin explains.
She also mentioned how the first time she went to the drive-thru, the pharmacist checked both her address and ID, but somehow gave her the wrong bag.
“[It] This information does not match this patient’s information at all. But they still gave me medication,” Caitlin says.
So after Caitlin left the pharmacy and waited on the phone for more than 30 minutes to speak to a pharmacist, she called the clerk.
“I said, ‘I want someone to call me because you gave me somebody’s drugs.’ Kids just need medication because their lungs are overactive.” exclaimed Caitlin.
Kaitlyn then explained to viewers the seriousness of the child’s situation. Caitlin said if antibiotics aren’t given at the right time, he could end up in the hospital.
“They have already received the injection at the clinic and will need a second dose of antibiotics,” Caitlin explains.
Walgreens’ reaction
Caitlin claims all the clerk had to say to the whole ordeal was “I’m sorry.” And they became pushy.
“I’m sure this patient just had surgery and this guy shows up wanting drugs. So she said, ‘I’ll give you your money back, but please just get in your car and come back.’ Caitlin reenacts.
Frustrated, Caitlin gets back in her car and makes the 30-minute drive back to Walgreens.
“So here I am, back at the drive-thru with two sick kids. I probably waited 15 minutes before I could bring them back the narc with all the patient information.” Caitlin says.
Caitlin finally makes it to the pharmacy counter and successfully completes the transaction. Caitlin made sure to let her employees know about the situation and how her sons needed their medication. After receiving an apology and a cash refund, Caitlin drove away.

“If this had happened at Walmart. They said they couldn’t give me a refund, so I said I was going to keep the medication for the Pharmacy Board investigation. They could give me a refund. He gave me a copy and I left. I filed a report with the Pharmacy Board and gave them the video of the interaction,” another added.
